Post Christmas Pamper

I'm one of those crazy start-decorating-for-christmas-in-november kinda gal, so it's hard to deny that I love Christmas. However, with all the parties and family duties, it can get pretty stressful and tense. So, now that the holiday chores are (almost) over, I thought it would be the perfect time to have some "me-time" to unwind from Christmas and get ready for the new year.
I ran myself a bath with the lush Cinder bath bomb -which smells of holiday joy and cinnamon- and made myself a cup of classic english tea. For my face I decided to try two new products out (since I have a pile of foil packets to last me a life time). I cleansed using an argon oil based cleanser from an italian-only brand, but I really did not like it. It tried out my skin too much; leaving it sticky and not feeling like skin. I then used the Kate Somerville 'ExfoliKate intensive exfoliating treatment'. If I have to be honest, I was really scared to use this because a) it is green and b) a lot of reviews online rated it as harsh and irritating, and I have quite sensitive skin. However, since a lot of people with oily/acne prone skin (which is what I have) seemed to like it, I decided to give it a try. I didn't find it irritating, even though it burned a bit, and it did leave my skin feeling fresher and softer, but I would not purchase a full size. It's not gentle enough and not worth all that money.
For my body I stayed true to the Body shop, starting with the pink grapefruit body scrub and topping it all off with the vanilla body lotion (which I think might not be sold anymore-but don't quote me on that). I had tried the scrub many times before in the shower, but had never really liked it, however this was my first time using it during 'bath time'. I don't know why, but it made a world of difference. I really enjoyed using it this time and it left my skin very soft- the only down side is that it numbs my hands while I massage it in.
Last but not least I applied my vaseline lip therapy lip balm as usual. I was also supposed to paint my nails with the Maybelline 'forever strong super stay 7 days gel nail color' in the shade 615 'mint for life' but I didn't have time. I'll probably do it tomorrow as I love both the color and the formula!
