A Birthday Celebration

I'm not the type of person that starts counting down the days till their birthday months ahead. In fact, I'm not even the type of person that likes birthdays. So, when a couple of days before my 16th birthday my best friend told me, "I'm planning your birthday and it's going to be so amazing!" I panicked.
"No. Please don't plan anything. You know I hate birthday parties. I just want to hang out with you alone and chill, nothing crazy!" She simply laughed at me and shook her head and said, "It's nothing crazy. You're going to love it, I swear."
And as always, she was absolutely right.
The day started out like any perfect day does. Being woken up by your best friend holding a tray of homemade cake pops... yum! After this wonderful breakfast my friend handed me two little gifts: one an adorable small glass bottle and the other a lavender soap all the way from holland! At this point we were ready to hit the town.

My best friend, Anna- it's better if you learn her name at this point, took charge and I followed. The first place she brought me took me a bit by surprise; it was our old kindergarden school.
"This is the place where almost 13 years ago we first met and become best friends," she quickly explained while handing me another present.
The rest of the day, as you might have guessed, was spent touring around the city stopping at 16 significant places from our childhood together. At each stop I was given yet another gift (all of which I loved) and a speech explaining the importance of the location.
It was honestly one of the best days ever and I'm so grateful to have a friend who cares about me so much as to organise this whole thing. She spoils me!
We ended the evening with a movie (The Fault in Our Stars- which is amazing and everyone should go see) and dinner with my family.
It was really a lovely day.
